The Animal Welfare Society of Monroe got the green light to grow. On Sept. 16, according to the Pocono Record, Stroud Township's Zoning Hearing Board unanimously approved a variance and a special exception for an expansion of the shelter at 3129 Godfrey Ridge Drive.

A New Coffee Shop Lands in Tannersville.

New Dollar Tree Opening at Eagle Valley Mall.
A large new Dollar Tree is opening at Eagle Valley Mall on Paradise Trail in East Stroudsburg — we've seen it ourselves, though we couldn't find it yet on Dollar Tree's official store locator or any public opening announcement. We'll share an opening date once one is confirmed.

The Pocono Record reports that Jay and Alexis Lessig are opening Gogo's Cozy Corner today at 3150 Route 715 in Henryville, the same building that has been feeding the neighborhood since 1990, first as Hallet's Cozy Corner, later as The Cook's Corner.

We're keeping our eyes on this one. The PNC Bank branch at 60 Washington Street closed back in April 2024, one of 20 PNC closures nationwide that year.
